Description
The Dead Air CT5P Patrol 5.56 suppressor is a compact can built for semi-automatic duty rifles, and this configuration pairs a 1/2×28 direct-thread mount with a Flat Dark Earth Cerakote finish (Dead Air part no. CT5PDTFDE0528). Dead Air built it around a compact Triskelion baffle stack and its Gas Management System, which together cut the backpressure and fumes that reach the shooter. It is made from Haynes 282 alloy using additive manufacturing. Dead Air says it runs with minimal change to bolt velocity on direct impingement and piston gas systems in both 5.56 NATO and 6mm ARC. For a patrol carbine or a short AR build, it changes very little about how the rifle runs.
Key Specifications
- The mount is a 1/2×28 direct thread, so the can threads straight onto the most common 5.56 AR muzzle thread.
- The caliber rating is 5.56 NATO and 6mm ARC, the two cartridges Dead Air tuned the CT5P to run with.
- Length is 5.49 inches in the direct-thread configuration, short enough to keep a carbine handy.
- Weight is 13.7 ounces in the direct-thread configuration, light for a can rated for duty use.
- Diameter is 1.6 inches, so confirm clearance under your handguard.
- Construction is Haynes 282 alloy, a high-temperature material built up with additive manufacturing.
- The finish is Flat Dark Earth high-temperature Cerakote, which holds up to heat and heavy use.
- It is full-auto rated, so sustained strings of fire are within its design limits.
- Dead Air lists no minimum barrel length restriction, so short-barreled hosts are covered.
- Dead Air says it is tested to the SOCOM SURG standard, a benchmark for duty durability.
