The ASP Sport Defender D1 pepper spray (ASP part no. 54960) is the polymer-bodied Defender in the smaller D1 size, built around a replaceable OC insert. ASP designed Defenders to be held and activated horizontally, which helps keep the spray going where it is aimed. The faceted grip and forged steel pocket clip make it easy to hold and easy to carry. It is a compact, discreet pick for everyday carry in a pocket, bag or on a key ring.

Key Specifications

• The body is molded from tough polymer, the same kind used for gun parts and other demanding equipment.
• The grip is a faceted surface that gives a secure hold and a distinctive look.
• A thumb-release safety is built in, so the device needs a deliberate action before the insert discharges.
• The dispersal port is O-ring sealed to keep dirt and moisture out of the mechanism.
• The pocket clip is forged steel, which stays put on a pocket edge or belt.
• The solid brass actuator has a hole for a key ring, a second carry option beside the clip.
• The included Heat insert is 10% oleoresin capsicum with 1.33% major capsaicinoids, and a D1 holds approximately six half-second bursts with a five foot range that can vary with conditions.
