The Counter Assault 8.1 oz bear spray (brand part no. 15067024) is a 32-foot bear deterrent that delivers an atomized blast of concentrated pepper spray. Counter Assault pairs that 32-foot reach with a 7-second spray duration, which the company describes as an optimal combination of distance and time. The canister is made in Montana and carries 2% capsaicin and related capsaicinoids, the maximum allowed by law. It is light enough to ride on a belt or pack strap for a hike, a day on the water or a backcountry camp.
