The Pedersoli Scout percussion rifle in .50 caliber (Pedersoli part no. 010S223500) is the carbine version of the Pennsylvania rifle. Pedersoli notes that its easy handling made it a favorite of the scouts who led pioneer caravans through the Western territories. A 28 3/8-inch barrel keeps the overall length to 42 15/16 inches and the weight to about 6.4 pounds, which is much handier in brush than a full-length long rifle. The rifle uses a percussion lock, a double set trigger and a ramp rear sight with elevation adjustment. It is a practical choice for a hunter who wants a traditional muzzleloader that carries easily.
