The Wolf Match Target .22 LR load (brand part no. 22MTB) is the entry point to Wolf Ammunition‘s match-grade rimfire line, built for shooters who want tighter groups than bulk plinking ammunition can deliver. It pushes a 40-grain lead round nose bullet at a standard velocity of 1050 feet per second, which keeps the bullet subsonic and avoids the accuracy-robbing transition through the sound barrier. Each box holds 50 rounds, a practical count for a position-shooting session, a bench test of a new rimfire rifle or a smallbore league night. Match Target is loaded to consistent tolerances so that velocity spread stays low from round to round, and the soft lead round nose profile feeds through bolt guns and semi-autos alike. For the shooter stepping up from bulk-pack rimfire, it is the affordable way into match ammunition.

Key Specifications

• The chambering is .22 Long Rifle, the standard smallbore cartridge for target rifles and pistols.
• Bullet weight is 40 grains, the classic match weight that most rimfire barrels are tuned around.
• The bullet is a lead round nose, a profile that feeds smoothly and keeps the center of gravity consistent for accuracy.
• Muzzle velocity is 1050 fps, a standard-velocity, subsonic load that avoids transonic turbulence on the way to the target.
• The box holds 50 rounds, which is the quantity this listing covers.
• It is loaded in a brass case with non-corrosive rimfire priming, so it is clean on the bolt face and chamber.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this ammunition subsonic? Yes. At 1050 fps it stays below the speed of sound, which is why match shooters prefer it for consistent groups at 50 and 100 yards.

How many rounds come in a box? A box holds 50 rounds. Ten boxes make up a factory case, but this listing is for a single 50-round box.

What is it best suited for? Precision practice and competition from a smallbore rifle or target pistol, where a standard-velocity match load gives tighter, more repeatable groups than high-velocity hunting ammunition.
