The Ruger Security-9 9mm pistol (brand part no. 3822) is a Sports South exclusive with a 4-inch blued alloy steel barrel, a silver Cerakote serrated steel slide and a black polymer frame, in a compact, affordable 15+1 package. The frame is glass-filled nylon with a built-in Picatinny rail for a light or laser, and the slide is through-hardened alloy steel, so the pistol is light but built for regular use. Drift-adjustable sights let the owner dial in point of impact, and a thumb safety gives a manual control for storage and carry. Ruger ships it with two magazines, and the silver slide on a black frame gives it a distinctive two-tone look. For a first handgun, a home-defense nightstand pistol or a budget carry gun, it is a straightforward 9mm.
