The Retay ACE-R 28 gauge shotgun in Realtree Legacy (brand part no. CRACELEG26) takes Retay USA‘s ACE-R inertia platform and trims it to a 26-inch barrel, the quicker-handling length for tight upland cover. Retay lists the 28 gauge at 5 pounds 5 ounces, and the 3-inch chamber lets it run the heavier 28 gauge loads now on the market. The deep-bore-drilled barrel carries a factory-lengthened forcing cone, the anodized aluminum receiver sits under a milled Bohler steel monoblock, and both the receiver and stock are dipped in Realtree Legacy camo. The Inertia Plus action vents no gas into the receiver, the trigger group drops out with a push button, and six extended long-range chokes plus a shim kit ship in the box. For a quail or dove hunter who wants a camo sub-gauge semi-auto that stays quick in the brush, the 26-inch ACE-R is built for the job.

Key Specifications

• The barrel is 26 inches, the shorter ACE-R length that swings faster on a close flush than the 28-inch guns.
• It is chambered for 28 gauge shells up to 3 inches.
• The finish is Realtree Legacy hydrographic camo over the stock and anodized aluminum receiver.
• Weight is 5 pounds 5 ounces, per Retay’s specification for the 28 gauge ACE-R.
• The Inertia Plus action uses a bolt-rollover torsion spring and runs clean because it does not bleed gas into the receiver.
• A six-tube set of extended long-range chokes from cylinder through full ships with the gun.
• Length of pull is 14.5 inches including the shim kit, and the 28 gauge receiver is not drilled and tapped.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose the 26-inch barrel over the 28? The 26-inch ACE-R is the quicker-handling gun in thick cover, where a fast swing matters more than a long sighting plane.

Is this receiver drilled and tapped? No. Retay drills and taps only its 12 gauge ACE-R receivers.

Does it include chokes and a shim kit? Yes, six extended long-range choke tubes and a shim kit for drop and cast come in the box.
