The Shadow Systems E526 in 5.56 NATO (brand part no. SS-6034) is an 11.5-inch AR-platform pistol built around a hybrid-profile, spiral-fluted 4150 CMV barrel with an all-black finish throughout, from the barrel to the ArmorLube-coated bolt carrier group. Shadow Systems built the E526 as a lightweight fighting platform, holding weight to just 5.4 pounds while keeping the durability of a pinned 17-4 stainless gas block and an MPI-tested bolt. Fully ambidextrous controls — bolt release, charging handle, and a configurable safety selector — put every function within reach for either-handed shooters, and the proprietary stabilizing brace and textured pistol grip keep the compact package controllable. Built for home defense, truck-gun duty, or a lightweight range pistol, the E526 pairs an AR pistol’s compact footprint with genuine rifle-grade components.

Is this a rifle or a pistol? It’s a pistol. Shadow Systems ships the E526 with its proprietary stabilizing brace rather than a shoulder stock, so no NFA paperwork or transfer wait applies.

What’s the difference between this and the bronze BCG edition? This SS-6034 model is finished all-black, including the bolt carrier group; the SS-6033 edition uses a bronze TiCN-coated BCG for a two-tone look instead.
