The MAC RA9 Defense S 9mm pistol (MAC part no. 15000602) builds on the RA9 platform from Military Armament Corporation, offered through Military Arms, with a longer 4.75-inch barrel and a lightened slide. Weight-saving window cuts in the top and sides of the slide set it apart from the standard RA9, and the polymer grip module keeps the loaded weight low. The serialized RA9 Monoblock fire-control chassis supports interchangeable grips and slides, and an RMR adapter plate comes with the optics-ready slide. It suits shooters who want a longer-barrel, optic-ready 9mm for range use or defense.

Key Specifications

• The caliber is 9mm, which offers a wide choice of defensive and practice ammunition.
• The barrel is 4.75 inches of 4140 steel with a QPQ coating, which adds sight radius over the standard RA9.
• Capacity is 17+1, and two 17-round magazines come with the pistol.
• The slide is optic ready with an RMR adapter plate included, so a compatible red dot mounts without a separate plate.
• The slide has weight-saving window cuts on the top and sides, which reduce reciprocating mass.
• The action is striker fired, which gives a consistent trigger pull.
• The sights are fixed with a white dot, which gives a usable sight picture before an optic is added.
• The pistol has ambidextrous slide stops, so the controls work for either hand.
• The finish is QPQ Tenifer on a polymer-framed pistol, a surface treatment suited to hard use.
• Weight is 1.81 pounds unloaded, light for a full-size pistol with a 4.75-inch barrel.
