Fingerprinting Services in Lubbock, TX
Need fingerprints for an ATF form, an FFL application, an out-of-state carry permit or an FBI background check? We take them electronically at our shop in Idalou, just outside Lubbock. One quick digital scan gives you printed FD-258 fingerprint cards and an ATF-ready EFT file, and we take your 2×2 passport-style photo in the same visit. It’s $40 per person, with no ink smudges and no extra trip for photos.
SUPPRESSORS & SBRs
Fingerprints for a suppressor? Not anymore
Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, fingerprints, a photo or a tax stamp for suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, or AOWs. They transfer on a Form 4473 and a background check, and you take them home the same day. See how to buy a suppressor now and our NFA transfers. Machine guns and destructive devices still need fingerprints, and we handle those.
WHAT WE FINGERPRINT FOR
What you can use our fingerprints for
- ✓Machine gun and destructive device filings: for an ATF Form 4 transfer or a Form 1 application to make a destructive device, you get an EFT file that uploads straight into ATF eForms, plus your photo. A Form 5 transfer to an heir is filed on paper, so we print FD-258 cards for it instead.
- ✓Each responsible person on an NFA trust: everyone on the trust submits fingerprints and a photo with each machine gun or destructive device application.
- ✓FFL applications (ATF Form 7): ATF asks for one FD-258 card and one 2×2 photo for each responsible person on the license.
- ✓Out-of-state carry permits: many nonresident permits take an FD-258 card. Utah’s application, for example, asks for one.
- ✓FBI background check: the FBI accepts an FD-258 card by mail when you request your Identity History Summary.
- ✓Work, visas, adoption and living abroad: anything that asks for a standard FD-258 applicant fingerprint card.
TEXAS LTC
Texas LTC fingerprints go through IdentoGO
Texas DPS takes License to Carry fingerprints only electronically through IdentoGO, its contracted vendor. After you apply, DPS emails you a service code to book your IdentoGO appointment. Many Texas state licensing boards use IdentoGO too, so check your board’s instructions before you come in. Not sure which kind of prints you need? Call us and we’ll help you figure it out before you make the trip.

FAQ
Fingerprinting FAQs
What’s the difference between an FD-258 card and an EFT file?
An FD-258 is the standard printed FBI fingerprint card you mail in with a paper application. An EFT (Electronic Fingerprint Transmission) file is the digital version that uploads straight into systems like ATF eForms. We capture your prints once and can give you either one, or both.
Do I still need fingerprints for a suppressor or SBR?
No. Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, fingerprints or a photo for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They transfer on a Form 4473 and a background check. Machine guns and destructive devices still need fingerprints, and we do those.
Can you do fingerprints for a Texas License to Carry?
No. Texas DPS only accepts LTC fingerprints taken electronically through IdentoGO, its contracted vendor. After you apply, DPS emails you a service code, and you use it to book your IdentoGO appointment.
Can I use your fingerprint card for an FBI background check?
Yes. The FBI accepts a mailed FD-258 card when you request your Identity History Summary, a copy of your own record. Follow the FBI’s current instructions for the request form and fee.
Do you do fingerprints for out-of-state carry permits?
Yes, for any state that takes a standard FD-258 card. Utah’s nonresident permit application, for example, asks for one. Check your state’s instructions first, since some states use their own fingerprint vendor.
Can you fingerprint everyone on a gun trust or an FFL application?
Yes. Each responsible person needs their own fingerprints and photo, so the service is priced per person. Bring everyone in and we’ll take care of all of them in one stop.
How long does it take?
A few minutes per person, including the photo.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, please set one up by email or phone so we’re ready for you. We reply the same day.
What ID should I bring?
A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID or passport.
