The Leupold VX-4HD 4-16×50 CDS-ZL2 Duplex riflescope is a 30mm second focal plane hunting scope with side focus (Leupold part no. 185456). Leupold gives it a 4:1 zoom, a 50mm objective and the Elite Optical System for bright images. The CDS-ZL2 elevation dial accepts a custom dial matched to your load, and the ZeroLock mechanism locks the setting. An integrated throw lever makes magnification changes quick. It fits a hunter who wants an adjustable scope that is waterproof, fogproof and shockproof for open country.

Key Specifications

• Magnification is a 4-16x variable range, a 4:1 zoom that covers closer shots and longer hunting distances.
• The objective lens is 50mm, which sets how much light the scope gathers and how much clearance it needs over the rifle.
• The main tube is 30mm, so it mounts in 30mm rings.
• The reticle is the Duplex, a classic design with heavy outer posts and a fine center for quick acquisition.
• The reticle sits in the second focal plane, so it keeps the same apparent size as you change power.
• Each turret click moves the point of impact 1/4 MOA, a fine step for precise zeroing and corrections.
• Total travel is 65 MOA of elevation and 50 MOA of windage, enough range to reach out and still stay on paper.
• Eye relief is 3.9 to 4.0 inches across the power range, which keeps a safe, comfortable distance from the eyepiece.
• The scope weighs 20.5 ounces, a figure that matters on a rifle you carry.
• Parallax is set with precision side focus down to a 30 yard minimum parallax-free distance, and the CDS-ZL2 dial locks and accepts a custom dial.
