Description
The Dead Air CT5P 1/2×28 black suppressor is the direct-thread version of the CT5P Patrol, Dead Air’s first patrol-specific, gas-regulated, low-backpressure 5.56 NATO silencer (Dead Air part no. CT5PDTBLK0528). Dead Air engineered it for law enforcement officers running semi-automatic duty rifles, with the goal of lowering hearing-loss risk and muzzle concussion in confined spaces. The patent-pending Compact Triskelion baffle and Gas Management System substantially reduce backpressure and fume exposure, with minimal change to bolt velocity on direct impingement and piston rifles. Dropping the HUB feature gives it a shorter, lighter profile than the Lazarus 6, at 5.49 inches in this configuration. For a 1/2×28-threaded patrol or home-defense AR, it is about as small as a rated 5.56 can gets.
Key Specifications
- The caliber rating is 5.56 NATO and 6mm ARC, the two cartridges Dead Air built the CT5P around.
- Dead Air lists it as full-auto rated for 5.56 NATO and 6mm ARC, a durability rating aimed at duty rifles.
- Length in this configuration is 5.49 inches, short enough to keep a duty rifle maneuverable.
- Weight in this configuration is 13.7 ounces, light enough for a rifle carried through a full shift.
- Diameter is 1.6 inches, so confirm clearance under your handguard.
- The body is Haynes 282, a nickel superalloy made with additive manufacturing for heat resistance at low weight.
- The finish is Black high-temp Cerakote, and the textured exterior adds surface area to shed heat and cut reflectivity.
- The mount is a 1/2×28 direct thread, so the can screws straight onto a matching barrel or muzzle device.
- Dead Air lists no minimum barrel length restrictions, so short-barreled hosts are covered.
- Dead Air says the CT5P was tested to the SOCOM SURG standard, a benchmark for duty durability.
