The Maxim Defense PDX Complete Upper in 5.56 NATO gives an AR-15 build a compact 5.5-inch barrel configuration (brand part no. MXM-47813). Maxim Defense designed the PDX around standard AR-style direct impingement operation, so it follows the familiar manual of arms of a full-size rifle in a much shorter package. The upper and handguard are 7075-T6 aluminum, the barrel is steel, and the finish is black, which makes for a consistent look on an AR-15 lower of your choice. It is a straightforward upper for builders who want a short, controllable 5.56 setup.
