Geissele’s Near Clone keeps the same MK16/SF4P layout as the military configuration, cold hammer forging the barrel from 41V50 chrome-moly-vanadium steel with a 1:7 twist and a chrome-lined bore for the durability a service rifle demands, running on a mid-length gas system. The 13.5-inch Geissele Super Modular Rail MK16 M-LOK handguard, designed specifically at USASOC’s request, covers nearly the entire barrel, and a SureFire SF4P 4-prong flash hider at the muzzle is compatible with SureFire’s SOCOM-series Fast Attach sound suppressors. A Geissele Airborne charging handle rounds out the build for ambidextrous charging with minimal snagging.
