The Sierra V-Crown Handgun Bullets in 9mm, 147 grain jacketed hollow point (Sierra part no. 9947) come from Sierra’s partnership with Sig Sauer to build an ultimate defense bullet line. Made by Sierra, this 100-count box delivers optimal weight retention and expansion at all effective distances, combined with Sierra’s world-renowned accuracy. The stacked hollow point design adds a second internal cavity, and a locking groove provides controlled expansion while keeping weight retention high. This heavy 147-grain weight is built to provide subsonic velocities from 9x19mm (9mm Luger) platforms, including SBR-style 9mm carbines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is 147 grains a common subsonic 9mm weight? The heavier bullet weight naturally runs at lower velocities, making it a common choice for subsonic 9x19mm loads.

What does the stacked hollow point design do? The additional internal cavity and locking groove work together to provide controlled expansion while keeping weight retention high.
