Description

The Q Southpaw 5.56 NATO suppressor is Q’s dedicated 5.56 silencer, built from a deliberate mix of Inconel and steel (brand part no. SIL-SP-QUICKIE-556). The blast baffle and end cap are Inconel, placed where the punishment is greatest, and the rest of the body is steel for strength and durability. It measures 6 inches and wears a Melonite finish. The can attaches with Q’s Quickie fast-attach system, which seats on the Cherry Bomb muzzle device for proper alignment and a taper lock. For a carbine that sees hard 5.56 use, it is a no-gimmick suppressor that puts the right material in the right place.

Key Specifications

  • The caliber is 5.56 NATO, the cartridge Q dedicated this can to.
  • Length is 6 inches, compact enough for a carbine or short-barreled rifle.
  • The blast baffle is Inconel, a nickel alloy that resists heat and erosion where gas hits first.
  • The end cap is also Inconel, protecting the front of the can from wear.
  • The body is steel, giving strength and durability without overcomplicating the design.
  • The finish is Melonite, a nitride treatment that protects against wear and corrosion.
  • The mount is Quickie fast-attach, so it moves between rifles quickly.
  • The Quickie seats on Q’s Cherry Bomb muzzle device, which provides alignment and a taper lock.
  • The Cherry Bomb also acts as a sacrificial blast baffle, which Q says lengthens the life of the suppressor.
  • Q builds in wrench features for the times a can needs help coming off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Southpaw use two materials? Q puts Inconel on the blast baffle and end cap, where heat and abuse are greatest, and uses steel for the rest of the body.

How does it mount? It uses Q’s Quickie fast-attach system on a Cherry Bomb muzzle device, which centers the can and locks it on a taper.
