The Iver Johnson Falcon Commander pistol in .45 ACP with a matte blued finish and checkered double diamond walnut grip (brand part no. FALCON) is a Series 70-pattern 1911 commander-length build without a firing pin block, giving shooters the traditional trigger feel classic 1911 fans expect. Iver Johnson chambers the pistol for an 8+1 capacity through a 4.25-inch black steel barrel, and a flat, serrated steel mainspring housing holds up to the rigors of everyday shooting. The forged slide and cast frame are CNC machined and hand fitted to exceptional tolerances, with each slide individually fit to its frame for a tight out-of-the-box fit; a finger relief cut near the trigger guard adds comfort. One magazine, a gun lock, a manual, and a hard black plastic lockable case ship standard. Among Commander-length semi-auto handguns, this Falcon Commander configuration favors shooters who want a more concealable .45 ACP 1911.
