The Hornady V-MAX .22 Caliber 55gr Bullets (Hornady part no. 22716) are one of the industry’s leading varmint bullets, pairing a polymer tip with a streamlined design for an ultra-flat trajectory. Match-grade jacket concentricity keeps this .22-caliber bullet accurate at all practical ranges, while the tip triggers explosive expansion even at velocities as low as 1,600 fps.

Key Specifications

• Bullet diameter is .224-inch, sized for its stated caliber.
• Weighs 55 grains, a common weight for this bullet’s intended use.
• Ships 250 per box, ready for volume handloading sessions.

• The polymer tip increases ballistic coefficient and initiates dramatic expansion, even down to 1,600 fps impact velocity.
• The tip’s sharp, aerodynamic profile also provides maximum bearing surface for added in-flight stability.
• Match-grade jacket concentricity provides maximum accuracy at all practical ranges.
• A swaged lead core with a cavity under the tip’s stem builds energy before impact, causing dramatic fragmentation on contact.
• Uses a flat-base design for consistent in-flight stability tuned to this bullet’s velocity range.
