Sierra’s Sierra Tipped MatchKing .30 Caliber 155gr Bullet (brand part no. 7755) is a 155-grain Tipped MatchKing bullet for reloaders assembling their own .30-caliber/.308 rifle cartridges ammunition. Sierra crowned its MatchKing line with the Tipped MatchKing by adding an acetal resin tip, cutting drag for a more favorable ballistic coefficient than the standard hollow point MatchKing.

Key Specifications

• Bullet diameter is .308-inch, sized for .30-caliber/.308 rifle cartridges.
• Weighs a nominal 155 grains.
• Bullet style is Tipped MatchKing.
• Sold boxed in quantities of 100 per box.
• The acetal resin tip is the main upgrade over the standard MatchKing, reducing drag without changing the proven MatchKing jacket and core.
• This is a component bullet for handloading, not loaded ammunition, so you’ll still need your own cases, powder, and primers.
• Always cross-check current load data from the bullet manufacturer or a trusted reloading manual before working up a charge, since published data changes over time.
• It’s good practice to spot-check bullet weight and seating depth with calipers on a sample from the box before running a full loading session.
• Keep bullets in their original box, away from moisture, until you’re ready to load them at the bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this loaded ammunition? No, it’s a component bullet only; you’ll need your own cases, powder, and primers to load finished .30-caliber/.308 rifle cartridges rounds.

What is this bullet best suited for? It’s a long-range match bullet built on Sierra’s MatchKing reputation, a common choice for .308 Winchester precision and long-range competition.

How is the Tipped MatchKing different from a standard MatchKing? It’s the same proven MatchKing jacket and core with an acetal resin tip added, which cuts drag for a better ballistic coefficient than the tip-less hollow point version.
