Berger Bullets’s Berger VLD Target 6mm/.243 105gr Bullet (brand part no. 24429) is a 105-grain VLD Target bullet for reloaders assembling their own 6mm/.243 rifle cartridges ammunition. The VLD Target uses a long secant ogive for reduced drag, shooting flatter and drifting less in the wind than a standard tangent-ogive target bullet.

Key Specifications

• Bullet diameter is .243-inch, sized for 6mm/.243 rifle cartridges.
• Weighs a nominal 105 grains.
• Bullet style is VLD Target.
• Sold boxed in quantities of 100 per box.
• Built with Berger’s J4 precision jackets for balanced construction bullet to bullet.
• Target-line bullets use thicker jackets than hunting bullets, designed to withstand more stress before the bullet degrades under load.
• This is a component bullet for handloading, not loaded ammunition, so you’ll still need your own cases, powder, and primers.
• Always cross-check current load data from the bullet manufacturer or a trusted reloading manual before working up a charge, since published data changes over time.
• It’s good practice to spot-check bullet weight and seating depth with calipers on a sample from the box before running a full loading session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this loaded ammunition? No, it’s a component bullet only; you’ll need your own cases, powder, and primers to load finished 6mm/.243 rifle cartridges rounds.

What is this bullet best suited for? It’s a long-range target and competition bullet, favoring low drag and wind resistance over hunting-style expansion.

What’s the difference between a secant and tangent ogive? A secant ogive like the VLD’s is longer and reduces drag more than a tangent ogive, trading some seating-depth forgiveness for a flatter trajectory and less wind drift.
