The Berry’s Superior Plated .44 Caliber 240gr Flat Point Pistol Bullets (brand part no. 97080) are a .429 diameter reloading bullet for .44 Special and .44 Magnum. Each bullet starts as a swaged lead core and is fully electroplated with copper, which prevents lead exposure, and they are a fit for shooters with basic reloading equipment. Berry’s lists a bullet length of .659 inch and publishes cartridge overall lengths of 1.435 inches for .44 Special and 1.560 inches for .44 Magnum. This is not loaded ammunition: it is a component bullet that you load into your own brass. Cast or jacketed load data with the same grain weight and profile will work with these bullets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this loaded ammunition? No. These are plated bullets for reloading and are not loaded ammunition.

Which cartridges can I load with them? They suit .44 Special and .44 Magnum. Berry’s lists cartridge overall lengths of 1.435 inches and 1.560 inches, and load data for cast or jacketed bullets of the same weight and profile will work.

Is there a velocity or crimp limit? Berry’s sets a maximum velocity of 1850 fps and says not to exceed it, since that can cause bullet core separation. It also says not to over crimp, which can cause core separation and accuracy issues. A taper or roll crimp is fine.
