The Redding Body Die .223 Rem (Redding part no. 75111) full-length resizes the case body and bumps the shoulder back on .223 Rem brass, without touching the neck. Redding originally built body dies for benchrest shooters who paired them with bushing-style neck sizing dies, and now offers the line as a companion piece across calibers. The die has no internal decapping parts, and it’s meant for brass that’s become difficult to chamber after repeated firing and neck-only sizing. It’s a good fit for precision handloaders running a neck-sizing routine who need to periodically reset body and shoulder dimensions.
What does a body die do? It full-length resizes the case body and bumps the shoulder back for reliable chambering, without touching the case neck.
Do I still need a neck sizing die? Yes. A body die is meant to pair with a separate neck-sizing die as part of a two-die case-prep routine.
When do I need a body die? When cases fired and neck-sized in the same rifle repeatedly become difficult to chamber, a body die resets body and shoulder dimensions without fully resizing the neck.
Reset your .223 Rem brass for reliable chambering without giving up the accuracy benefits of neck sizing. Redding builds this body die to pair with any bushing-style neck die, and you can browse the rest of the reloading dies we stock.
