Because box sizes make sticker prices meaningless — .45 ACP ships in 20-, 50-, 100- and 500-round packaging. Price divided by rounds per box is the only apples-to-apples number, so that’s exactly what this list ranks.
Why does .45 ACP cost more per round than 9mm?
Materials. A typical .45 bullet is 230 grains against 9mm’s 115 — roughly twice the lead — in a bigger case with more powder. The per-round premium is physics, not markup, which is why cost-per-round shopping matters even more in .45.
Is budget .45 ACP reliable?
